Wiggles Face Firestorm: Children's Icons Respond to 'Ecstasy' TikTok Outcry!

A recent TikTok video featuring the beloved children's entertainment group The Wiggles and Keli Holiday, the solo project of Peking Duk's Adam Hyde, has been removed from social media platforms following a wave of complaints from concerned parents. The controversial clip, which garnered significant attention after being reported by News.com.au, depicted Blue Wiggle Anthony Field and his nephew Dominic Field, known for his portrayal of The Tree of Wisdom, dancing in the background while Keli Holiday promoted his new single titled “Ecstasy.”

The primary source of contention stemmed from the chorus of Holiday’s track, which prominently features the lyric: “Hey girl, come on, dance with me / You and your pocket full of ecstasy.” This particular line drew sharp criticism from viewers who expressed concern that the pairing of children's entertainers with adult-coded lyrical content blurred the appropriate boundaries for young audiences.

The video's appearance followed closely after Keli Holiday's joint performance with The Wiggles at the 2025 TikTok Awards on November 26. During this event, The Wiggles joined Holiday on stage for a rendition of his single “Dancing2,” with Anthony Field playing the bagpipes and Dominic Field performing his signature dance alongside Holiday’s partner, broadcaster Abbie Chatfield. However, The Wiggles clarified that the problematic video and its accompanying music were edited together independently and without their knowledge after this family-friendly performance.

In response to the backlash, a spokesperson for The Wiggles issued a strong statement to The West Australian, emphasizing that the group “does not support or condone the use of drugs in any form.” The statement explicitly clarified that the circulating video was neither created nor approved by The Wiggles, and they had formally requested its removal. While acknowledging Keli Holiday (Adam Hyde) as a longtime friend, the group reiterated that the music added to the clip was done so without their awareness. The Wiggles concluded by reaffirming their steadfast commitment to families, stating, “We deeply value the confidence families place in us and we remain committed to creating safe, positive, and educational experiences for children and families in Australia and around the world.”
