Walt Disney World (WDW) this week homes the most popular vacation spot of people suffering from rough weather in Central Florida. Although Disney’s magic is assured, there is always the possibility of getting wet as well. This means flying to Western Europe could bring with it flight irregularities and the chance for dinner on land instead of floating atop sea foam. For those travelers considering a vacation, however, or already en route, it pays to check the weather forecast carefully and particularly given this potential tropical storm brewing in the Atlantic Ocean.

The week started off with weather-related hold-ups for planes, air terminals like Jacksonville International and Tampa International were the worst hit. On the West Coast, incoming flights were grounded as severe weather, which has swept across America over the last five days near Florida. Air carrier companies throughout the nation except for one cancelled flight after another during this period. As the day progressed, Central Florida skies remained unstable with weather forecasting unstable conditions to come. Visitors and travelers were told to keep a genial weather watch as long as they were making their way to Disney World, even if only by next Wednesday morning when you could come out of the monorail tunnel here (just outside our building) and see Bay Lake itself for first time today out there on opposite shore.

A low pressure area in the Atlantic Ocean has attracted attention from the National Hurricane Center. A tropical storm might develop from it and become the next this season. This system, whose formation is still at a primitive stage, is expected to swing across Florida and into the northeastern Gulf of Mexico by Wednesday. While there are still parts of it that remain unorganized, the potential for development has prompted close supervision. The NHC gives this disturbance a 40% chance of growing into a tropical depression or storm within next few days.

It is not certain whether this system has an official name, but it is having an impact in Florida. Even before developing into a storm, the moisture was responsible for heavy rains and potential for thunderstorms, in particular in the Orlando area as whole including Disney World complex.

If you are planning to visit Disney World this week, carry something beyond sunscreen with you. Don’t leave your house without an umbrella or two. It is forecast by the National Hurricane Center that central Florida, the area around (including) Orlando, will experience heavy rain and thunderstorms for much of the week. There generally may be between 1 and 4.5 inches of rain in some areas which would almost certainly cause flash floods in low places with the ground’s natural slope. There can also be strong wind gusts of between 40 to 50 mph, particularly in Are:

Disney World guests not only have to alter their plans due to this change of weather, it can also be something for disappointment. It may be nothing more than an inconvenience for tourists waiting in turn to ride Splash Mountain or other outdoor attractions at Disney World on Saturday. However, if you are flexible and forewarned, these weather challenges might lead to an altogether different park experience; where you go from joyous marathon ramblings on your own preferred rounds through each park to simply avoiding concussion with waterlogged notebook.Effect of Rain on Disney’s Plans For A Rainy Day

This has been demonstrated countless times by the way that Disneyland manages bad weather: whatever it throws our way—in rain or shine, guests will be brought both safely and enjoyably to their own homes at night. When it is storming, outdoor shows such as parades and pyrotechnic displays are often postponed or canceled. However, many of Disney’s indoor attractions–like the Haunted Mansion, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Spaceship Earth–remain open and provide a dry, warm refuge from even torrential rain.

Check the My Disney Experience app to see which rides are open and what their waiting times are. This way, visitors can adjust their plans as necessary. For visitors looking to escape from the rain, indoor attractions offer an ideal solution — especially since they are less crowded during stormy weather conditions. It also helps to carry a portable water supply and waterproof bags for camera equipment. While no one enjoys an interrupted vacation, a valuable point may be made: not all of Disney World’s most popular attractions are dependent on the weather. Indeed some of the park’s best-loved rides are simply timeless delights whether you tread them in sunshine or rain.

This week’s storm serves as a warning of the unpredictable nature of Florida’s hurricane season, which lasts from June 1 to November 30. Even small interruptions have widespread repercussions, from the theme parks to flight plans and hotel room availability. For Disney park visitors this is particularly pertinent as the peak summer holiday period also corresponds with highly variable weather conditions. Whether or not this low-pressure area evolves into Tropical Storm Dexter, it is clear that disturbance in the tropics must also be reckoned with when coming to Florida during summer months. Although not all tropical seasons deliver major storms, it is requisite to maintain a constant vigil on weather reports, as things can change very suddenly–and often do.

This week’s weather is rather changeable. So, if you are on your way to Disney World, or in Disney World now, be ready for rain, sometimes very heavy winds (even leading to power outages)–But other times glorious sunshine. As for the rest… Well, a pair of hurricanes has already crossed near Florida, so strong rain again may soon arrive into central Florida. That thunder of course means ever-postponing any plans we had made. Keep your phone charged and check the weather frequently. Make sure that you have some alternate plans for when outdoor things look like they’re not going to happen.

Even if it rains, the magic of Walt Disney World never fades, Accept it with grace as part of life itself, and carry on. The wonderful attractions all over this park keep their doors open to the public throughout every day that it is open.

The weather here is very changeable, so if you are prepared to adapt or even find a little adventure then WDW will remain a magical vacation destination! And heaven knows every good holiday story for the children needs some kind of adventure in store. Just as long as the umbrella is kept handy, yours should have no trouble at all.
