Cast have shared the single for their new single ‘Poison Vine’, featuring the veteran soul singer P.P. Arnold – watch it below.
The Liverpool band have been making headlines in recent weeks as the opening band on the ‘Oasis Live ‘25’ tour, for which they will be playing at all 19 UK and Ireland dates.
Earlier this week, the Liverpool band announced that their new album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ will be released on January 30, 2026 via Scruff Of The Neck Records – pre/order it here – and gave fans the first taste of it with ‘Poison Vine’.
The single now has a video, directed by Shaolin Pete, which finds Cast and Arnold giving a raw live performance of the track, with frontman John Power trading vocals with Arnold, best known for her ‘60s hits ‘The First Cut Is The Deepest’ and ‘Angel Of The Morning’. Power has said: “There’s an angst to ‘Poison Vine’ that wrote itself: ‘Something deep inside you want me to find’. It’s got a groove and a sassiness throughout the track, but when I heard them two vocals kicking in on the chorus, then I just knew we had it! I thought, that’s it, that’s the real thing.”
Speaking about the album more generally, he added: “‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ just arrived out of the blue. There was a window of opportunity – Youth was free, the studio was free, and the band were free – and I thought, let providence prevail.”

“No one had heard the songs apart from myself and Alan McGee, but we both thought that we had something. You could feel it, even though none of the songs were really finished, and so we decided to roll with it and record them. It was more than just trying to capture a vibe – it was about trying to record something majestic, which is how Youth describes the record.”
Cast have already chalked up two nights with Oasis in Cardiff and the first two of five at Manchester’s Heaton Park, with the third set to take place on Wednesday night (July 16).
Cast spoke to NME last year about the prospect of taking on the Oasis support slots, with Power admitting he was “blown away by it”.
“We had the nod and were just waiting for the official announcement,” he added. “Now we can bask in it. It’s a stamp of approval from our peers, and I appreciate that massively. It kind of reaffirms our legacy and authenticates the road and journey that we’ve been on as a band. And now us, Richard Ashcroft and Oasis – talk about Northern Soul! That’s some line-up.”
At the first Cardiff show, Power dedicated ‘Walkaway’ to the late Liverpool star Diogo Jota, with the band playing other hits such as ‘Guiding Star’ and ‘Alright’ – see the full round up of the gig here.
Backstage at one of the Cardiff shows, Power also posted a video of him singing a light-hearted ballad dedicated to Oasis guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs.
