WADA Re-elects President Bańka and Vice-President Yang
Witold Banka and Yang Yang have been re-elected as president and vice president, respectively, of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for what will be their third and final term in these roles. The re-election was confirmed during a virtual Foundation Board meeting, with the announcement made on May 29.
Their new three-year term is set to commence on January 1, 2026, and will conclude on December 31, 2028. Witold Banka, representing Poland, is a former sprinter who previously served as the Minister of Sport and Tourism for his country. Yang Yang, from China, is a highly accomplished former Winter Olympic champion.
Banka and Yang were first elected to their positions as WADA president and vice president at the 2019 World Conference on Doping in Sport. Their re-election ensures continuity in leadership for the global anti-doping body as they head into this final term.
