Vought's AI Ethics Crisis Deepens: Homelander's Extreme Behavior Alarms Tech Watchdogs

Homelander's megalomania, a defining characteristic in The Boys, has reached alarming new heights, morphing into a literal God complex fueled by a series of disturbing events. This escalation is profoundly illustrated when he experiences an angelic vision of Madelyn Stillwell, his former confidante and victim. In this hallucination, Stillwell poses a rhetorical question, "Why should Jesus have more love than you? You save more people than he does," effectively encouraging Homelander to pursue immortality and eliminate those who do not worship him. The vision culminates in a grotesque scene where he consumes a glowing light from her bared chest, mimicking breast milk, an act later paralleled by him bathing in real breast milk stolen from a Mt. Sinai NICU, much to Soldier Boy's disgust. This psychological push from his subconscious has set Homelander on his most dangerous warpath yet.
In the episode titled “Every One Of You Sons And Bitches,” Homelander relentlessly pursues his newfound goal of immortality, leading to a near-fatal confrontation with his pre-teen son, Ryan. His violent outburst towards Ryan, who dared to stand up to him, suggests he has abandoned any reason to control his destructive actions. Furthermore, Homelander is visibly frustrated by the attention Soldier Boy is receiving, despite having been instrumental in his father's revival. Taunted by A-Train’s last words and Soldier Boy’s derogatory remarks calling him a “pathetic loser” and “the softest, wettest boy,” Homelander is determined to acquire V1, the original Compound V formula that grants Soldier Boy immunity to the Supe-killing virus. Paradoxically, instead of fearing Soldier Boy for this immunity, Homelander continues to antagonize him, prompting questions about Soldier Boy's potential, more severe retaliation, beyond sleeping with Firecracker.
A critical development in the fight against Homelander involves the Supe-killing virus, which was seemingly destroyed by the father-daughter duo, Sameer and Zoe. Their subsequent reunion and the revelation that Billy Butcher was responsible for Victoria Neuman’s death led them to refuse aid to Butcher and The Boys. This decision, though understandable from their perspective, effectively nullified a significant opportunity to eliminate the formidable monster that Homelander has become. However, all hope is not lost, as Frenchie possesses the capability to recreate the virus, offering a glimmer of a renewed offensive.
As the conflict intensifies, new alliances are forming against Homelander. Notably, former Vought CEO Stan Edgar has joined forces with the Gen V teens, mobilizing them in a collective effort to finally bring Homelander down. These emerging partnerships underscore the widespread recognition of Homelander's escalating threat and the desperate measures required to counteract his terrifying power.
