Voting begins at Sanwo-Olu's polling unit

Published 1 day ago1 minute read

Incoming report confirmed that voting has commenced in earnest at Polling Unit 007, St. Stephens Nursery and Primary School, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu still being expected to cast his vote.

Reports say officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) arrived at the polling unit early this morning with voting materials amid tight security

Sanwo-Olu’s media aide, Jubril Gawat, was spotted casting his vote at the polling unit while his principal is also expected to perform his civic duty at the same unit.

Lagos residents are expected to troop out today to vote for their choice of candidates in the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas, by electoral guidelines.

This is just as 13 out of the 15 registered political parties that are expected to participate in the election declined to sign a Peace Accord in a bid to get their commitment to a peaceful electoral process.
