Vinicius Jr. Masterclass Propels Real Madrid to Top of La Liga!
)
Real Madrid secured a dominant 4-1 victory over Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabéu, a result that propelled them to the top of the LALIGA standings, displacing rivals Barcelona. The match saw a standout performance from Vinícius Júnior, who netted two goals from the penalty spot, contributing significantly to Los Blancos' comprehensive win against an in-form Real Sociedad side.
Real Madrid began the game with an immediate offensive push, taking an early lead in the 5th minute. Gonzalo García capitalized on a dangerous delivery from Trent Alexander-Arnold, steering a composed finish into the bottom left corner to put the hosts ahead. Real Sociedad responded with intensity, and their efforts paid off in the 20th minute when Dean Huijsen was judged to have fouled Yangel Herrera inside the box, resulting in a penalty. Mikel Oyarzabal calmly converted the spot-kick down the center, briefly leveling the score at 1-1 and shifting the momentum.
However, Real Madrid's attacking quality quickly reasserted itself. In the 25th minute, Vinícius Júnior was fouled by Jon Aramburu inside the area, earning Real Madrid a penalty. The Brazilian winger made no mistake, restoring his team's lead to 2-1. Just six minutes later, Federico Valverde further extended Real Madrid's advantage with a superb right-footed strike bent into the top corner, giving Los Blancos a commanding 3-1 lead heading into halftime.
The second half saw Real Madrid continue their assertive play. In the 48th minute, another penalty was awarded after Aramburu fouled Vinícius Júnior for a second time. With Kylian Mbappé remaining an unused substitute, the Brazil international stepped up confidently to dispatch his second spot-kick of the match, pushing the score to 4-1 and effectively sealing the victory for the home side.
From that point onward, Real Madrid expertly managed the game, effectively limiting Real Sociedad's opportunities and maintaining control. They comfortably saw out the remainder of the match in front of a capacity crowd at the Bernabéu, securing a crucial win that solidified their position at the summit of LALIGA.
