VDM appeared on Thursday before Justice Musa Liman of the Federal High Court in the Federal Capital Territory, where he was slammed with a five-count charge under the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.
The outspoken critic, known for his fiery online commentaries, pleaded not guilty to all charges.
His counsel, , appealed to the court to allow his client to remain on the bail earlier granted by Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon of a sister court. The prosecution, represented by Victor Okoye from the office of the Inspector General of Police, did not oppose the request.
Justice Liman subsequently upheld the previous bail conditions and adjourned the matter until July 24 for trial.
on May 22, 2024, before Justice Olajuwon on the same charges and was granted bail on June 10, 2024, in the sum of ₦10 million. The bail terms include two sureties who must either work for reputable companies or be Level 17 federal civil servants with proof of three years of tax clearance.
