Varsity, Oyo community to endure six-hour blackout for maintenance
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced its plans to carry out an annual preventive maintenance on its T1 40MVA 132/33kV power transformer at McPherson Transmission Substation on Thursday.
According to TCN, the maintenance exercise is expected to last six hours between 10 am and 4 pm on Thursday.
It noted that as a result of this exercise, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) will be unable to supply electricity to its customers in McPherson University and Ogunmakin during this period, and residents will have to endure a six-hour blackout.
The TCN has, however, apologised for any inconvenience the maintenance may have caused and assured the public that the planned maintenance is essential to ensure the equipment’s efficient operation.
The General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, reiterated the agency’s commitment to providing a reliable electricity supply.
