US stock futures lower as investors await Nvidia earnings

Published 1 week ago2 minute read

U.S. stock futures are lower as investors waited for artificial intelligence chip darling Nvidia's earnings after the bell.

Nvidia is the last of the so-called Magnificent Seven companies to report earnings. The Magnificent Seven includes the largest and most influential tech companies. Along with Nvidia, they are Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta Platforms, Microsoft and Tesla.

Nvidia warned last month that results in the first three months of the year will be hit by a $5.5 billion charge due to a new U.S. export ban on some chips.

At 6:20 a.m. ET, futures linked to the blue-chip Dow slipped -0.16%, while broad S&P 500 futures dropped -0.12% and tech-heavy Nasdaq futures lost -0.08%.

Before the open, Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Abercrombie & Fitch are set to report earnings.

European and Asian stock markets mostly slid Monday and Wall Street was forecast to open sharply lower on talk that a cheaper Chinese generative AI program, DeepSeek, can outperform big-name rivals, notably in the United States.
