Urgent Warning: Poland's Intelligence Uncovers Russian Drone Strike Plot Against Allies

Prime Minister Donald Tusk addressed the Sejm, presenting a "most probable scenario for the coming few months" marked by serious events and difficult tests for all Poles. Tusk emphasized that the period up to early spring, particularly late autumn and winter, would constitute the most critical phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war to date, requiring focus, seriousness, and mental preparedness from the nation.

A significant negative development highlighted by Tusk is Russia's mass-scale deployment of new jet-powered drones. These drones operate at much higher speeds and altitudes, making effective countermeasures challenging and requiring urgent defensive preparations, even for Poland. In response to these evolving threats, Tusk announced his upcoming trip to Ukraine to confer with President Volodymyr Zelensky on cooperation within the anti-ballistic coalition, leveraging the skills and capacities of Ukraine and other nations.

Tusk also referred to the unfulfilled promises of an energy truce, noting continued attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure since their initial mention by US President Donald Trump. These attacks are increasingly targeting installations close to Poland's border crossings with Ukraine, indicating Russia's objective to destroy Ukraine's economy and logistics on a massive scale. The Prime Minister pointedly added, "For now, Ukraine's."

The Polish Prime Minister detailed intelligence assessments indicating constant, high-frequency, and intense strikes expected on six key Ukrainian cities. These assaults are coupled with the destruction of essential defense supplies and railway infrastructure, with over 300 Ukrainian railway locomotives reportedly destroyed in recent weeks. Furthermore, intelligence services suggest Russia's plans include hybrid strikes, utilizing drones and missiles, against states supporting Ukraine, including Poland. Tusk stressed that this information is now "highly consistent and, unfortunately, persuasive."

These potential strikes, Tusk explained, are designed to appear as "accidental" incidents. Their aim is to paralyze or weaken NATO members' motivation to invoke alliance provisions in the event of aggression. Tusk warned of a real risk that drones or missiles might enter the territory of one or several NATO countries on the eastern flank, potentially causing destruction. The official narrative would dismiss these as accidents, discouraging any NATO response. Russia's ultimate objective, according to Tusk, is to weaken NATO's overall cohesion and convince member states that Article 5 is "more theoretical than practical," with such "accidental" strikes potentially being repeated.

Continuing his address, Tusk outlined Russia's new strategy, which also encompasses leveraging possible political changes in some European countries, particularly ahead of forthcoming elections where overtly pro-Russian options exist. He appealed to politicians across party lines, specifically addressing MPs from the Confederation party, to avoid inadvertently or deliberately promoting narratives that serve Russia's interests. He underscored that "whipping up hostility towards the European Union, towards our allies, towards Ukrainians, is directly implementing Russia's strategy." In closing, Prime Minister Tusk called for national unity in the Sejm chamber, urging all present to "speak with one voice, take joint decisions, hesitate no longer and show that, regardless of political views, we are all patriots in a moment of trial." He emphasized that Article 5, allied loyalty, and fidelity to commitments must become Poland's hallmark, ensuring a swift and effective response from the entire bloc in the face of serious threats from Russia, especially considering some European politicians might seek an alibi to avoid defending eastern flank nations.
