URGENT: Gnosis Under Active Attack! Users Warned to Withdraw Funds Amid Exploit

Users of the Gnosis ecosystem are facing an urgent call to action following a serious security incident within Gnosis Pay. The blockchain security firm PeckShieldAlert was the first to identify an active exploit, triggering widespread concerns regarding the safety of user funds.

Martin Köppelmann, a co-founder of Gnosis, escalated the warning by publicly advising all users to immediately withdraw their assets from Gnosis Pay. He pinpointed the root cause of the problem as a critical flaw within the platform's delay module, which is designed as an additional layer of security for transactions and account operations. This vulnerability potentially affects both GNO, the native token of the Gnosis ecosystem, and EURe, a stablecoin pegged to the euro.

Project representatives have emphasized the critical need for immediate action, urging users not to wait for further technical details, as the full extent of the exploit remains unrevealed. PeckShieldAlert also indicated that attackers might already be actively exploiting this vulnerability. In such live exploit scenarios, swift responses are crucial to prevent significant financial losses, especially before comprehensive patches or mitigation measures can be fully deployed.

Gnosis Pay has gained considerable traction among consumers for its ability to bridge blockchain-based assets with traditional payment services, enabling users to spend cryptocurrency via payment cards and associated financial tools. Consequently, this latest security flaw has the potential to impact a substantial number of users on the platform. As of now, no official estimate regarding the volume of impacted funds or the number of affected accounts has been publicly disclosed. The Gnosis team is expected to release further updates as their investigation and mitigation efforts progress.
