Unbelievable Collaboration: Charli XCX Recruits Martin Scorsese for Iconic New Album Art

Charli XCX has officially announced the highly anticipated release of her new studio album, "Music, Fashion, Film," scheduled for July 24 via Atlantic Records. This upcoming LP is set to feature her recently released singles, "SS26" and "Rock Music," giving fans a glimpse into her latest artistic direction.

The album's artwork is a striking black and white photograph, captured by her frequent collaborator Aidan Zamiri. It showcases three iconic figures representing the very disciplines named in the album's title: John Cale of The Velvet Underground, acclaimed fashion designer Marc Jacobs, and legendary film director Martin Scorsese. Charli XCX has a history with both Cale and Jacobs, having recently collaborated with Cale on the song "House" for her "Wuthering Heights" soundtrack LP in February 2026, and previously modeling for Marc Jacobs in a campaign for his fashion line.

Confirming details on Instagram, Charli XCX revealed that "Music, Fashion, Film" will comprise 11 songs, with a total runtime of "30 minutes and 5 seconds." A comprehensive tracklist beyond the two singles has yet to be disclosed. The album's intriguing title draws inspiration directly from the lyrics of her single "SS26," where she provocatively sings, "We’re walkin’ on a runway that goes straight to hell / Nothing’s gonna save us, not music, fashion or film."

This new album marks Charli XCX's first solo studio effort since her critically acclaimed 2024 release, "brat." That album significantly elevated her status, peaking at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart and reaching No. 3 on the Billboard 200, solidifying her as a mainstream pop icon. Speaking to British Vogue, Charli hinted at a potentially divisive new sound, as heard on "Rock Music," stating, "For me, it’s fun to flip the form. We know there’s gonna be people who are bothered by it, but that’s fine."

Following the release of "Music, Fashion, Film," Charli XCX is slated to headline major festivals, including Chicago’s Lollapalooza Festival on July 31, and the U.K.’s prestigious Reading & Leeds Festival from August 28-29, giving fans opportunities to experience her new music live.
