India is the world’s most populous country in 2025 with 1.46 billion people, surpassing China at 1.42 billion, according to Statista.

The United States follows distantly with 346 million people.

Nigeria leads Africa with a population of 235 million, ranking 6th globally.

Other African countries in the top 20 include Ethiopia (133 million), Egypt (123 million), and the Democratic Republic of Congo (111 million).

Asia dominates the list, with populous nations like Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Philippines.

Brazil and Mexico represent Latin America, while Russia, Germany, and Turkey are Europe’s entries. The data highlights shifting demographics, rapid urbanisation, and the growing global influence of countries with large youth populations.
