Experienced American Nigel Hayes-Davis (203-F-1994) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 30-year old forward had the game-high 27 points adding two rebounds and six assists for Fenerbahce in his team's victory, helping them to beat Turk Telekom (#10, 10-14) 94-85. It allowed Fenerbahce to consolidate first place in the Turkish BSL. Fenerbahce has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 23-1. In the team's last game Hayes-Davis had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He has many years of experience at Fenerbahce, through which he has constantly improved. Nigel Hayes-Davis averages this season 13.9ppg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international point guard Berk Ugurlu (192-PG-1996) of second-ranked
Besiktas Fibabanka Istanbul. Ugurlu impressed basketball fans with 21 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he led Besiktas to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Bursaspor (#9, 10-14) 121-91. Besiktas' second position in the standings has not changed. His team's 19-5 record is not bad at all. Ugurlu is well-known by Besiktas fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. The third best performed player last round was South Sudanese Lual Acuil (213-C-1994) of
Manisa Basket (#14). Acuil scored 24 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Despite Acuil's great performance the Manisa lost 90-109 to the higher-ranked Bahcesehir (#5, 14-9). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Manisa can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 7-17 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Acuil has individually a great season in Turkey. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.4ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 6.7rpg (5th best). The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
