Trump Secures $1.4 Billion Political War Chest for Midterms
President Donald Trump has amassed a substantial $1.4 billion for his political war chest, funds which White House advisors assert will establish a "dominant force" for Congressional Republicans in the upcoming 2026 midterm elections. This impressive sum is comprised of $900 million raised specifically since the November election, supplemented by an additional $500 million in other commitments, as reported by Fox News.
These considerable funds are earmarked to bolster Republican efforts to maintain control over both chambers of Congress in the next election cycle. Currently, Republicans hold a 53-47 majority in the Senate and a 220-215 majority in the House of Representatives, positions they aim to solidify with this financial backing.
Meredith O’Rourke, President Trump’s senior advisor and National Finance Director, conveyed to Fox News that "After securing a historic victory in his re-election campaign in 2024, President Trump has continued to break records, including fundraising numbers that have positioned him to be an even more dominant force going into the midterms and beyond." While the specific origins of the bulk of these funds were not detailed by the outlet, it was noted that the President headlined a significant event in April dedicated to the House Republican campaign arm, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).
