Trilokah

Mt. Prospect’s loss is Chicago’s gain—after six years in the burbs, Trilokah moved to Lincoln Park and brought along a large menu full of excellent Keralite and South Indian food. So bring reinforcements to Trilokah’s dining room, which is filled with people having a laid-back night out. Under a wall of caricatures of Indian celebrities, friends take turns ripping crisp dosas and scooping fluffy short-grain rice, onions, and cashews in the Thalassery chicken biryani. Another table over, a family opens a banana-leaf-wrapped package full of pompano pollichatthu and digs into goat pepper fry that doesn’t hold back on the heat. And like many of the spicy dishes, the kick never comes at the expense of rich flavor. Plus, it’s a great excuse to add a refreshing mango lassi to the mix.
