Tragic Bus Accident Near Hyderabad Airport: One Dead, 14 Injured | Hyderabad News - Times of India
HYDERABAD: A housekeeping staff member working at Rajiv Gandhi International (RGI) Airport died and 14 others were injured in a road accident involving a private bus and an auto-rickshaw near the airport on Thursday morning.Police said that the incident occurred around 8.50am between Rotary III and Rotary IV of the airport road, when a white bus rear-ended an auto-rickshaw carrying workers of VAR Pvt Ltd, a housekeeping agency contracted at the airport. The workers were returning home after completing their night shift.Laxmaiah (50), a resident of Mangal Thanda in Nalgonda district, died on the spot. Another worker, D Hanmanthu (29), sustained severe injuries and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Shamshabad.
Others, K Vijaya, M Bhagya, G Rupadevi, M Ramu, D Venkatamma, R Laxma, D Jhanshi, R Shankar, G Nirmala, M Bujji, R Laxmi, and the auto driver S Nagaraju, received minor injuries.RGI Airport police, along with bystanders, rushed the injured to nearby hospitals. A case has been fired under Sections 106(1) (causing death due to negligence) and 125(a) (causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on a complaint from a VAR representative.The bus driver fled the scene and is absconding. Police have launched efforts to identify and arrest him.
