Tragedy Strikes Salford Quays: Body Discovered, Police Investigate

Emergency services responded to Salford Quays on December 5 after a body was tragically discovered in the water. The incident led to a significant presence of Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and North West Ambulance Service vehicles, all converging on the scene at lunchtime.
A large cordon was immediately established at Salford Quays, specifically near the Salford Watersports Centre. As a result, The Quays road was closed in both directions, extending from Winnipeg Quay to the Watersports Centre, to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that a body had been recovered from the water. However, as of the latest information, formal identification of the deceased has not yet taken place. Authorities have also not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
Officers remained at the scene throughout the afternoon, with a blue forensic tent being erected as part of the investigative procedures. Both the Fire and Ambulance Services confirmed their attendance to provide support to the police during the operation.
