Kid Cudi has officially removed M.I.A. as an opening act from his ongoing Rebel Ragers Tour, citing her repeated political rants on stage as the reason. The decision was announced by Cudi himself via his Instagram Story on Monday, May 4, following performances in Austin and Dallas over the weekend. Kid Cudi stated that he had previously informed M.I.A.'s management about his preference against offensive content at his shows, but despite these assurances, he received numerous complaints from fans who were upset by her on-stage remarks.

In his announcement, Cudi expressed his disappointment, emphasizing, "I won't have someone on my tour making offensive remarks that upsets my fanbase." M.I.A.'s controversial statements included incidents such as being booed at the Dallas show for discussing immigration and her political party allegiance. According to Variety, she claimed to have been "canceled for many reasons," adding, "I never thought I would be canceled for being a brown Republican voter." A viral TikTok video also showed M.I.A. asserting she was "illegal" and that half of her team couldn't join the tour due to U.S. visa issues, telling the audience, "Don't listen to what the bots say on the internet."

The Rebel Ragers Tour, which began on April 28 in Phoenix, was initially scheduled for 33 shows across North America, concluding at the end of June. Besides M.I.A., other openers included Big Boi, A-Trak, me n ü, and Dot Da Genius. Billboard has reached out to both Kid Cudi and M.I.A.'s representatives for further comments on the situation.

In related tour news, Kid Cudi also revealed on his Instagram Story that the Tuesday, May 5, show in Birmingham, Alabama, had been canceled due to insufficient ticket sales. He explained that despite his desire to perform in Alabama, a state where he had not previously played, the demand was not strong enough. However, Cudi reassured fans that the rest of the tour would proceed as scheduled. He highlighted the tour's success, stating, "This has been so far my best selling tour to date," with venues being packed and an "ELECTRIC" atmosphere. He promised powerful performances through the end of June. The Rebel Ragers Tour is set to continue with upcoming dates in Atlanta on May 6 and Tampa Bay, Florida, on May 8.
