Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has shared his message on Tottenham winning the 2025 Europa League. Spurs beat Man United for the fourth time this season to win their first trophy in 17 years.

Arteta congratulated their North London rivals in his press conference ahead of their final game of the season against Southampton.

"Just congratulate them. I think they are champions and when you get to that, you have to do a lot of things right. I think they've gone through a season with a lot of obstacles and difficulties and they have in the end managed a beautiful moment," he said via Arsenal.com.
"So, you have to congratulate. This is sport and I'm sure they've done everything in their hands to achieve it and they are very happy."

Arteta's Arsenal are set to finish their fifth consecutive season without a trophy.

Interestingly, Postecoglou made his famous comment after they lost to Arsenal in the North London derby last September.

"I'll correct myself - I don't usually win things, I always win things in my second year. Nothing's changed," he said via BBC Sport. "I've said it now. I don't say things unless I believe them."

On Wednesday, he delivered on that promise.

Arsenal fans will end the season without a trophy for the fifth time in a row. They will finish second in the Premier League for the third season running.

The Gunners also reached the Champions League semi-final, but lost to Paris Saint-Germain. Despite not winning silverware, Arteta has re-established Arsenal as a top team in Europe.

Spurs, on the other hand, had not won a trophy since 2008. Winning the Europa League ended the drought and also 'saved' a poor season.

They have been poor in the league. In 27 games, they have 11 wins, five draws, and 11 defeats, a disappointing return.

Their coach, Ange Postecoglou, finally delivered silverware, but his future is up in the air. He addressed his future after beating Manchester United for the fourth time this season.

"I still feel there's a lot of work to be done, I think that's quite obvious. But not as much work as people may think...I really feel that tonight can be a great platform for us to kick on," he said via Football London.

Earlier, reported that UEFA released a statement explaining why there were not enough medals.

Players, including Son Heung-min, lifted the trophies without medals, but UEFA said they received them in the dressing room

The winning team gets 50 gold medals while the losing team gets 50 silver medals.
