“I’m used to people listening when I talk. So I just wanna say that I made a big theme for us as a group about family this year. How important family is.
“These boys, I’m so proud of them and the staff. They’ve been the best family that I could ever be associated with.
“But more importantly, it’s everyone in this room, how you have helped these boys become champions. They truly deserve it. They’re outstanding people, not just outstanding players.
“I couldn’t be prouder to be their manager, and I want everyone everyone to enjoy tonight and what it means because you all every single one of you deserve it from the bottom of my heart.
“I’ve never been prouder to be a manager of a football club, the manager of these players, and the people with them. You, the families, trust me. I played a video before the game. It inspired them to win this game today.
“Every single one of them is a champion. Well done. Enjoy the night.”

In the wake of Thursday’s win, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario said to PA Agency that his manager had arranged for a surprise video with messages from family members to be played in a pre-match meeting in Bilbao.
The Times’ Tom Allnutt said that it “brought many in the room to tears”.
“The message was just to do our things, to play for us, for our fans and especially for our fans who were here to support us in the stands,”
“We had an emotional video from our families in the pre-match meeting. It was very emotional and I think in the back of our minds they played a big part of the game.
“My mum and my dad (spoke), they were here celebrating with me on the pitch. They said just to fight for this badge, to fight for Tottenham Hotspur and to make them happy.
“It was at the hotel. We had the preparation of the game as well as this brilliant video.”
Ruben Amorim and a number of players offer to leave Man Utd while Luke Shaw apologises to fans
: My dad would be beaming with pride. Really Well done @SpursOfficial ❤️❤️
: Conducts himself like a true manger, speaks his mind, give him a couple of years and there will be more nights like these ones. Done what others couldn’t in 17 years.
: When people talk Angeball they talk tactics. Reading @VinceRugari book it’s deeper than that; it’s this. It’s a brave, fearless philosophy about football itself that emboldens players to carry their identity and their story into their play and success. It’s who they are, mate.
: How can you not love this guy. I’ve had my doubts and still not sure he’s the future but my word he has the dressing room fully behind him. He deserves the success, if he’s still in the job the league form needs addressing next season.
: How do we get our hands on the video he showed before the game? Sob fest
: Please never leave ange and we need to see the pre match talk I fucking beg
: The man is a legend. We told you when he arrived at spurs how special he is. Those fans still not convinced know fuck all about football. Well done big ange.
: Have to admit big Ange has pulled me right back in
: Whatever you think about him as a manager, the bloke is first class.
: I do love him… He genuinely seems like such a great guy!!
: What a top top man Ange is. The more I see and hear from him, the more proud I am that he’s our manager.
: Oh Jesus. He’s got me in tears again! That’s it. He’s reeled me back in. I’ll die for this man!
: I beg we see that video Ange played pre match
: U just can’t sack him now. What a bad vibe that wud have after all this. Deserves another season he’s done what other managers cudnt do
: Don’t sack him Levy
@steveAVFC: Fair play Ange, very likeable bloke
@StatesideCoys: Need to see that pre match video and team talk like how my body needs oxygen
