Topeka warehouse fire causes over $100k in damage

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Fire Department (TFD) was called to respond to a warehouse fire in north Topeka that caused over $100,000 in damage on Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were called around 1:15 a.m. to the 2100 block of Northeast Grantville Road for reports of a warehouse fire. Crews found a large warehouse with heavy smoke coming from it. Fire crews were able to put out the fire.

The fire caused approximately $75,000 in property damage and $100,000 in content loss. Working smoke detectors weren’t found in the warehouse. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, according to the TFD.
