Tom Holland is So Happy to Be Part of 'The Odyssey'

Published 8 hours ago2 minute read

Next July, we’ll be watching Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey on the big screen. Audiences seeing movies like Superman and Jurassic World Rebirth in theaters are treated to a first look establishing Tom Holland’s Telemachus on the search for his missing father Odysseus (Matt Damon).

For Holland, getting to work with filmmakers whose work he grew up watching was a joy unto itself. During a recent GQ interview, he called the production “the job of a lifetime. Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway have always been heroes of mine, so to share scenes with them, to learn from [and] become friends with them, I couldn’t have asked for a better job. And I’m so proud of the work I’ve done. It was the best experience I’ve had on the film set, and I think the movie is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen.”

Along with his costars, Holland put a lot of praise onto Nolan and his longtime producer (and wife) Emma Thomas. “I’ve never seen someone that can work the way that they do, and there is a reason why they’re the best in the business for sure,” he continued. “To get a front row seat to that and to be a part of the process and to collaborate with a true master of his craft and learn from him was the best experience I’ve ever had. […] I came to work every day with a real sense of purpose and a point to prove, and I’m so grateful for Chris to have given me that opportunity.”

Big words from Holland, and we’ll see how he fares in Nolan’s world when The Odyssey hits theaters on July 17, 2026.
