Tinubu's Loyalists Push APC For Wider Inclusion

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Ideological Group has appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure the comprehensive inclusion of all support groups in strategic planning for the upcoming 2027 general elections. The call was made by Mr. Bamidele Atoyebi, convener of the BAT Ideological Group, in an official statement released in Lagos.

Atoyebi emphasized the indispensable role played by the diverse Tinubu support groups, describing them as crucial stakeholders whose concerted efforts were instrumental in the APC’s electoral triumph and President Bola Tinubu’s successful emergence in 2023. He asserted that these groups remain fundamental to President Tinubu’s ongoing re-election endeavors and, as such, deserve explicit recognition and integration within the party's broader framework.

According to Atoyebi, fostering an environment of inclusion and recognition within the APC is paramount. Such an approach would fortify unity and cohesion within the party and serve as a powerful catalyst for grassroots mobilization, vital for success in the 2027 polls. He acknowledged that not every individual can receive a political appointment, but stressed that every loyal member should feel a profound sense of belonging within the APC. "We know that not everyone can be given appointments, but everyone can be carried along in the spirit of fairness and inclusion," Atoyebi reiterated.

He further highlighted that President Tinubu's political philosophy is rooted in collective progress and a deep appreciation for loyal supporters. "When leaders get appointments or opportunities, the spirit of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu teaches us to remember those who worked with us," Atoyebi quoted, illustrating the importance of acknowledging all contributions. The BAT Ideological Group draws inspiration from President Tinubu’s vision, leadership philosophy, and enduring commitment to national development, and has compiled a comprehensive handbook capturing his core ideology and leadership principles.

As Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections, Atoyebi stressed the imperative for the APC to actively engage and carry along all vital stakeholders to secure an unequivocal victory. He advocated for the party to reward loyal members, many of whom may have felt overlooked following the 2023 elections. He urged proactive measures to consolidate internal harmony by recognizing and appreciating the efforts of every individual and group that contributed to President Tinubu’s 2023 victory.

Concluding his statement, Atoyebi reaffirmed the BAT Ideological Group’s commitment to collaborate with APC leadership at all levels to ensure the successful delivery of President Tinubu’s second-term bid. He asserted that continuity is essential for the president’s reform agenda, and every party member has a crucial, participatory role in its sustained success. "We may not all be appointed, but we can all be carried along. This is the Asiwaju Tinubu way, this is the APC way, and this is the future we must build together by lifting one another," Atoyebi passionately declared, encapsulating the group’s vision for a unified and successful future for the APC and Nigeria.
