Three arrested over looting, arson at Magunas Supermarket during Saba Saba protests
Police in Meru have arrested three suspects accused of torching Magunas Supermarket during the Saba Saba protests.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects, Ian Mugambi, Abdulatif Murithi and Teddy Kaimenyi, were captured on CCTV footage looting the supermarket before setting it ablaze.
They are also accused of breaking into and stealing from Selelite Supermarket and Seven Eleven Lounge during the same incident.
During the arrests, officers recovered a dark green motorcycle believed to have been used during the crimes.
The suspects are currently in police custody pending arraignment as detectives pursue other individuals believed to have taken part in the attacks.
