Thailand Expands European Air Travel Connectivity for Winter 2025/26

Thailand's travel landscape is poised for a significant expansion in European connectivity, with five new routes and increased frequencies on eleven established routes set to dramatically enhance accessibility for European travelers. This strategic development, effective for the winter 2025/26 season, aims to solidify Thailand's position as a prime destination for winter sun, cultural exploration, and vibrant city breaks, particularly benefiting key hubs like Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and Phuket.

A leading force in this expansion is Norse Air Atlantic, a leisure carrier that is making substantial inroads into the Thai market. Despite adjusting operations on certain Europe-U.S. routes due to shifting demand, Norse is prioritizing Thailand with the introduction of four new routes: London Gatwick to Bangkok (four times per week, commencing October 26, 2025), Manchester to Bangkok (once per week, starting November 26, 2025), Oslo to Phuket (once per week, commencing December 8, 2025), and Stockholm to Phuket (once per week, starting December 4, 2025). Furthermore, Norse Air Atlantic will boost its existing services, increasing flights from Oslo to Bangkok to four times a week from December 3, and from Stockholm to Bangkok to four times a week from December 5, up from the current two. This impressive growth underscores Norse's commitment to the Southeast Asian nation.

Adding to the enhanced connectivity, Air France will launch a new service with three weekly flights from Paris CDG to Phuket, starting November 27, 2025, marking a crucial step in extending European access to Thailand's renowned beach destinations. Beyond these new services, a host of other prominent European airlines are also significantly increasing their flight frequencies to Thailand. Aircalin International will increase its Paris CDG to Bangkok flights from two to three weekly, starting November 17, 2025. Austrian Airlines will double its Vienna to Bangkok services from seven to fourteen weekly flights, effective December 3, 2025. British Airways is set to increase its London Gatwick to Bangkok flights from three to six weekly starting November 2025. Condor will boost its Frankfurt to Bangkok route from five to seven weekly flights starting October 26, 2025, and its Frankfurt to Phuket route from five to seven weekly flights starting November 2, 2025. ITA Airways will also increase its Rome FCO to Bangkok flights from five to seven weekly starting December 1, 2025. Lastly, KLM is enhancing its Amsterdam to Bangkok services from seven to eleven weekly flights, commencing October 28, 2025. These collective increases underscore the rising demand for travel to Thailand and are expected to improve capacity and flexibility for travelers.

Further broadening global access to Thailand and the wider Southeast Asian region, Thai Airways International and Turkish Airlines are strengthening their partnership. Starting December 10, 2025, Turkish Airlines will introduce three weekly flights on the Istanbul-Bangkok-Phnom Penh route. This new service marks a significant milestone as it will be the first direct link for Phnom Penh within Turkish Airlines' Southeast Asia network, which now spans seven countries. Additionally, the new partnership agreement between Thai Airways and Turkish Airlines will increase the overall capacity on the Istanbul to Bangkok route, bringing the total number of weekly frequencies to 42.

For European travelers, this comprehensive expansion translates into a wealth of increased options and unparalleled convenience for journeys to Thailand. Whether the destination is the bustling urban environment of Bangkok or the tranquil beaches of Phuket, the multitude of new routes and heightened frequencies will offer greater flexibility in travel planning and accessibility. Travelers are advised to book in advance to secure optimal rates for the upcoming winter season, remain vigilant for special offers and early bird discounts, and leverage the increased flight availability for greater flexibility in choosing departure dates. For those connecting to Phnom Penh or other Southeast Asian cities, the enhanced Turkish Airlines services via Istanbul present streamlined connection opportunities. Ultimately, Thailand is positioning itself as a premier destination for the 2025/26 winter season, offering more pathways than ever before to this captivating tropical paradise.
