Texas' Rodney Terry seemingly stating his case to keep job after First Four loss

Things aren't looking good for Texas Longhorns head coach Rodney Terry.
His team at least made it into the First Four but was tossed by Xavier, 86-80, marking the end of a somewhat disappointing season for Terry and the Longhorns. After the game, Jeff Goodman of Field of 68 reported that Texas was likely to move on from Terry.
On Thursday morning, Goodman affirmed his initial report, stating that a move is expected to happen soon:
Texas is expected to make it official soon that it is making a move with Rodney Terry and will be looking for a new head coach, source told @TheFieldOf68. https://t.co/NEP2omLmsO

That still remains to be seen, and the report has been disputed, but looking back on Terry's postgame comments after the loss to Xavier, it sure does seem like he knew something was in the air. He was absolutely making a case for his job based on his longevity with the program.
“I’ve been at Texas 13 years, man,” Terry said (h/t On3). “There’s not a year I haven’t made the NCAA Tournament or been part of the NCAA Tournament. So, I have a lot of pride in terms of being a Longhorn. I love being at Texas. I don’t think anyone has been a part of Texas basketball that’s been more successful than myself. I’ve been a part of the top five seasons in this program’s history. I give our guys a lot of credit for being in the position to be here tonight.”
If that's not a coach who knows that the hook could be coming, then what is?
Terry has been the head coach for the past three seasons, but it's worth noting that he was also an assistant coach at Texas from 2002 to 2011 before taking the head-coaching job at Fresno State.
He has a lot of experience with the program, as he mentioned, but will that experience save his job?
At this point, it seems unlikely, but we'll have to wait and see what officially happens.
