The first round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament begins on Thursday. The First Four came to an end with No. 16 seeds Alabama State and Mount St. Mary's winning and No. 11 seeds North Carolina and Xavier getting victories.
As the first round begins, it will be interesting to see if there are any major upsets. In 2023, No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson stunned No. 1 Purdue in the Round of 64.
Last year, it was No. 14 Oakland who topped No. 3 Kentucky in the first round, which turned out to be John Calipari's final game with the Wildcats.
After the First Four ended, former NBA player and two-time All-Star Roy Hibbert spoke highly of Mount St. Mary's and even put Duke on warning in the process.
"It was all about the point guard play and the trust they had in their bigs," Hibbert said about Mount St. Mary's. "They also move the ball to the perimeter. The ball movement was great."
"If they (Mount St. Mary's) keep that up, they may have a chance, maybe, to win one more game," Hibbert said.

Mount St. Mary's faces No. 1 seed Duke on Friday, and it would be a monumental upset if the Mountaineers defeated the Blue Devils.
Besides Fairleigh Dickinson's upset two years ago, the only other time it happened was in 2018 when the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) defeated No. 1 Virginia.
Mount St. Mary's defeated American, 83-72, on Wednesday, and the Mountaineers show 57.7% from the field and 40.9% from three, very respectable on both fronts.
Duke is a common pick to cut down the nets for the national title, although questions remain on star freshman Cooper Flagg's ankle injury he sustained in the ACC tournament.
As of Wednesday night, Duke is a 32.5-point favorite against Mount St. Mary's, per BetMGM, so it would be a massive upset.
