Teen's Extreme Gamble: Flying Abroad at 16 for 'Ugly' Forehead Reduction Surgery

In a notable shift in beauty concerns, many women are increasingly focusing on anxieties related to a high forehead, moving past traditional worries about features like noses or teeth. This growing trend has led to a significant increase in demand for cosmetic procedures aimed at reducing the space between the hairline and eyebrows, with clinics reporting a surge in inquiries.
One such individual is 16-year-old Yas Labidi, a content creator who took drastic action to address her self-consciousness. After years of struggling with her appearance, Yas, with her mother Natasha’s consent, traveled to Turkey in November 2024 for a hair transplant to reduce her forehead by 2.5 cm. UK clinics had refused the procedure due to her age, but her mother, a 44-year-old from Nottingham, supported the decision to alleviate Yas’s worsening mental distress. Natasha viewed it as a safe procedure, comparable to braces or hair extensions, rather than a high-risk operation.
