Teddy Swims' Dream Come True: Starstruck by Wiggles Collaboration

For acclaimed musician Teddy Swims, the pinnacle of his career, the moment he truly felt he had “made it” was not defined by record-breaking hits or sold-out arenas. Instead, it was a heartwarming collaboration with The Wiggles, the beloved Australian children’s entertainment group, that fulfilled a lifelong dream. This unforgettable moment unfolded during the final leg of Swims’ energetic tour across Australia and New Zealand.
During his whirlwind visit Down Under, Swims performed at the NRL Grand Final and delivered a keynote at SXSW Sydney. Yet, what truly captured his heart was his surprise performance with The Wiggles on October 15 at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena. Together, they performed a joyful medley of Wiggles classics including “Rock A Bye Your Bear,” “Hot Potato,” and “Fruit Salad.” Swims later described the experience as “the coolest thing ever,” saying it marked the realization of a childhood dream.
Swims had first reached out to The Wiggles years earlier, during his early Instagram days, expressing his admiration and hope to one day collaborate. Fate intervened when he met them backstage at the Today Show on October 5, just before the rugby league finale. The Wiggles spontaneously invited him to join them for “Fruit Salad,” a gesture that left him “absolutely starstruck.”
The connection led to an even greater moment when Swims invited The Wiggles to appear at one of his concerts. They accepted, resulting in a three-song medley that featured Swims’ entire band. The singer later shared, “That was my ‘made it’ moment for me,” emphasizing how the collaboration symbolized the pure joy and gratitude he feels for his journey.
Beyond this special partnership, Swims continues to soar in his career. His hit single “Lose Control” made history by becoming the first song to spend 100 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, surpassing Glass Animals’ record for “Heat Waves.” The Atlanta-born artist, celebrated for his soulful fusion of R&B, country, and pop, also reached No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with his record I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2), while “Lose Control” peaked at No. 4 on the Australian singles chart.
Swims’ tour of Australasia continues with multiple sold-out shows, including three nights at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and a finale at Perth’s RAC Arena on October 29. Supported by Matt Corby and produced by Frontier Touring, the tour stands as a testament to Swims’ deep connection with fans and to the heartfelt authenticity that makes his music, and his story, resonate so powerfully.
