Tech Visionary Leo Stan Ekeh Urges 'Tech-Focused Parenting' Amidst TD Africa's Glamorous 12th Annual Awards

Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Group, delivered a pivotal address at the 12th edition of TD Africa’s “Celebrating You” Awards Night, strongly urging Nigerian parents to prioritize technology education for their children. The message underscored the nation's strategic positioning for economic dominance, with technology serving as its indispensable foundation. The event, themed “African Digital Renaissance,” convened an impressive assembly of partners, industry leaders, and distinguished guests at the iconic Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, to acknowledge and celebrate significant contributions to Nigeria’s technology ecosystem.

Mr. Ekeh's conviction in technology's transformative power for securing Nigeria’s economic future was clear. He emphatically advised, “I advise you, if you have two, three kids, stick two in technology, it is a good gamble,” reiterating his unwavering belief that technology is the cornerstone for both national development and individual prosperity in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, Chief Executive Officer of TD Africa, reinforced the company's profound commitment to its partners. She credited their trust, unwavering loyalty, and exceptional performance throughout 2025 as instrumental to the organization’s success, remarking, “Our achievements this year were made possible by partners who demonstrate excellence.” Together, Leo Stan Ekeh and Mrs. Chioma Ekeh have built their technology empire, positioning TD Africa as one of West Africa’s leading technology distributors since its establishment in 1999, driven by a shared vision for Africa’s digital transformation.

As Chairman of Zinox Group, Leo Stan Ekeh oversees a diverse conglomerate that includes key players such as Task Systems, TD Africa, Zinox Technologies, and Konga. These entities collectively form the robust backbone of Nigeria’s technology infrastructure, with Ekeh’s leadership consistently characterized by an unrelenting focus on empowering Africans through accessible technology solutions and fostering digital inclusion.

Despite prevailing economic challenges, Mr. Ekeh expressed profound optimism regarding Nigeria's future trajectory, confidently declaring: “In the next 10 years, there would be no stronger economy than this country, so you must have faith but you must work with conscience.” He also revealed a unique personal business philosophy: his adherence to the principle of “CORPORATE TITHE” from early in his entrepreneurial journey. This uncommon value, now deeply entrenched in his companies, has manifested in various philanthropic initiatives, including a significant $75 million creative financing facility established 16 years ago to support Nigerian businesses that face barriers to accessing traditional loans. He explained, “All the monies you people are giving us are being returned to build a strong economy.”

Ekeh’s commitment to technology-driven empowerment recently culminated in the launch of the ambitious Computerize Nigeria Initiative, a strategic partnership between Zinox Technologies and KongaCares. This program aims to equip at least one million Nigerian students with computers, complemented by essential supporting infrastructure. This includes uninterrupted power solutions provided by iPower inverters, reliable internet connectivity powered by Starlink, and comprehensive training coupled with robust after-sales support. This initiative stands as one of the most significant corporate social responsibility efforts within Nigeria’s technology sector, meticulously designed to democratize access to digital education and ensure that no child is left behind in the burgeoning digital age.

The evening featured prestigious awards presentations, recognizing partners who demonstrated exceptional innovation, flawless project execution, unparalleled customer excellence, and strategic collaboration throughout 2025. Award categories included Partner of the Year, Mobile Partner of the Year, Legacy Award, OEM Staff of the Year, OEM of the Year, Digital Impact Award, and Payment Discipline Award, celebrating a wide array of achievements.

Adding to the night's excitement and generous spirit, a raffle draw saw Chukwuka Mmadu, Founder of Chimesco Standard Concept and a valued TD Africa Partner, win a brand-new SUV. Mr. Mmadu expressed his profound joy at winning the prize, while also commending TD Africa’s impactful contributions to the technology sector.

The event attracted an impressive influx of Nigeria’s most influential figures, including Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, former Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria and Special Guest of Honour; Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, former Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission; Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM); Dr. Stella Okoli, Founder/CEO of Emzor Pharmaceuticals; Mr. Atedo Peterside, Founder of Stanbic IBTC Bank and Anap Foundation; and Mr. Nnamdi Ezeigbo, Founder of SLOT Systems and co-founder of TECNO Mobile, among many others.

The awards ceremony was splendidly complemented by stellar performances from Nigerian music icons Styl Plus and Wande Coal, the celebrated comedian Kenny Blaq, and the eloquent spoken word artist Chidalu Ekeh, creating an atmosphere that perfectly balanced professional recognition with vibrant cultural celebration. BellaNaija was noted as a Media Partner for Konga.
