Marques Warrick

Kentucky’s alumni team in The Basketball Tournament has added a Lexington native to the roster. On Monday morning, La Familia announced the addition of Marques Warrick (6'3''-G-2002), who played his high school basketball at Henry Clay before spending four seasons at Northern Kentucky University. A 6-foot-3 guard, Warrick played five years of college ball, using his final year of eligibility at Missouri during the 2024-25 season. While at NKU, he was named 2023-24 All-Horizon League First Team and was a two-time All-Horizon League Second Team (2021-22, 2022-23) player. Warrick becomes the 12th player added to this year’s roster (including YouTuber Jesser) and the third non-Kentucky alum. La Famila has also brought on DJ Burns (Murray State) and Kerem Kanter (Xavier) to help round out the roster. La Familia begins its TBT run this Friday at 9:00 p.m. ET (FS1) as the top seed in the Lexington Regional against the 8-seed Stroh’s Squad. While at Henry Clay, Warrick finished with over 1,900 points across his high school career, the most in school history. As a senior, he averaged 23.2 points per game while shooting 43.4 percent from long range. He was named a candidate for the Mr. Basketball Award in 2020. Warrick went to NKU and became an immediate contributor throughout his four seasons with the Norse. He started 121 of 125 games played with per-game averages of 18 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists on shooting splits of 42.8/35.7/83.3. Warrick parlayed his stellar run in the Horizon League into a spot on an SEC roster, playing under Dennis Gates at Missouri last season. He came off the bench in all 33 games played, averaging 6.6 points and 1.3 assists in 13.5 minutes per outing. One of Warrick’s best performances came in the regular season finale against Kentucky (and new La Familia teammate Ansley Almonor) when he dropped 17 points in 14 minutes during a 91-83 loss. La Familia already had one of the deepest and most talented rosters in The Basketball Tournament. Fresh out of college, Warrick could step in right away and be one of the best players in the entire event.
