Taylor Swift Slams Rumors of Music Retirement After Travis Kelce Wedding

Pop superstar Taylor Swift has decisively addressed fan concerns regarding the future of her music career following her engagement to NFL tight end Travis Kelce. In an interview on BBC Radio 2’s The Scott Mills Breakfast Show, Swift expressed that the idea of her ceasing to release albums after marriage was a “shockingly offensive thing to say.” She emphasized that people do not get married with the intention of quitting their jobs, alleviating any “panicking” among her fanbase about “The Life of a Showgirl” potentially being her final LP.
Swift elaborated on her strong connection with Kelce, highlighting that their shared passion for their respective careers is a fundamental aspect of their relationship. She stated, “I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do, and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music.” Swift further explained that Kelce’s own intense dedication to his work allows him to fully understand and support her commitment to her craft, asserting, “There’s no point in time where he’s going to be like, ‘I’m really upset that you’re still making music.’”
The interview took place just three days after the 14-time Grammy winner launched her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” Approximately one month prior, Swift and Kelce publicly announced their engagement via an Instagram post, playfully declaring, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
While wedding plans are now on the horizon, Swift confirmed to the BBC that her primary focus for the immediate future remains the promotion and rollout of her latest album, “Showgirl.” However, she did share a lighthearted insight into a potential performer for the wedding reception: her longtime friend and collaborator, Ed Sheeran. In a separate conversation with U.K.’s Hits Radio Breakfast Show, Swift remarked, “It would be hard to keep him from it, I think.” She added, “It’s like, Ed, if there’s a stage, you know that you’ll be on it. He knows what people want, and he wants to give people what they want. That’s the fun thing about our friendship is we both love performing, we love writing and we love singing.”
