Sometimes, all you need to watch is a good spy action comedy to uplift your mood. The combined genre has everything an audience needs in one production: thrilling moments, battles, and good laughs. When was released in theaters, it was the then-latest hot topic among movie lovers and action fans. Starring asEggsy, whose full fictional name was Gary Unwin, the movie grossed $414 million at the box office and prompted a sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, to be released two years later. The demand for more films in the series increased, and fans wondered if a third movie would arrive. While it's been about eight years since the second installment arrived, and with a divisive prequel, The King's Man, released in the meantime, Egerton did provide an update about a possible sequel.

Kingsman director and producer Matthew Vaughn once said that the sequel was delayed partly because of Egerton's busy schedule. Egerton's career was already on the rise before starring in the movies, but his performance sped up the process. During an interview with The Playlist, the actor responded to Vaughn's comments, saying he and Matthew are like family, and he thinks the third movie will happen. Egerton said:

Matthew Vaughn and the most famous sports star in the world are teaming up for two new movies!

Is that what he said? Yeah, he's so funny. He did call me on Friday night, actually. Yeah, look, we both want to do it. And I know Colin [Firth] is open to doing it, too. I think the interesting thing will be figuring out whether we all see the same thing. I love Matthew. Matthew is like family to me. I really think there's a brilliant story to tell with the third Kingsman. And I still think it will happen.

Kingsman: The Secret Service follows Eggsy as he is recruited by Harry Hart (Colin Firth) into a secret spy organization. He joins a mission to tackle a global threat from Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson), a wealthy megalomaniac and eco-terrorist. Valentine's goal is to combat climate change by eliminating a significant portion of humanity. Eggsy's father, Lee Unwin, sacrificed himself to save Hart, who eventually blames himself for Lee's death. So, Hart gives Lee's son a medal engraved with an emergency assistance number.

Having a duo like Taron Egerton and Colin Firth back together in the third film would be a dream come true for Kingsman fans. Director Matthew Vaughn once talked about how he could possibly set up the production.

Eggsy and Harry [will be in it], obviously. But it's the gang coming back together and it's one of those moments that…when we wrote the screenplay, it was very much about, okay, I saw how people loved the relationship of Eggsy and Harry. So we just came up with this thing, what could be the ultimate reason for them to either fall in love or to hate each other forever? So that's what this movie is all about is will they or won't they, let's just say.
