Tarantino Shifts Focus: Directing Paused for New Cliff Booth Novel

Quentin Tarantino, currently experiencing the longest directorial dry spell of his career, is set to publish a new novel. This new work, titled The Adventures Of Cliff Booth, serves as a sequel to his Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood novel. The announcement comes ahead of the film's Netflix premiere and is another addition to Tarantino's recent activities, which include directing farces for the British stage, podcast appearances, and spending time with the IDF, rather than directing his prophesied tenth feature film.

The novel's title, The Adventures Of Cliff Booth, is a playful variation on The Further Mis-Adventures Of Cliff Booth, a title linked to a David Fincher film that Tarantino opted not to helm. The implication is that this new book will focus on Cliff Booth's more successful and deliberate exploits, contrasting with the misfortunes depicted in the film.

Set in 1977, the story takes place eight years after the conclusion of Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood. While a detailed plot has not yet been revealed, an intriguing logline provides insight into Booth's continued journey: "The Swinging Sixties are long gone—but Clifford Booth keeps on keeping on…War hero, stuntman, bartender, cinema projectionist…with the occasional ‘clandestine services’ for his friends…" This publication marks the third novel within the Once Upon A Time universe, following the earlier release of the fake film history book, The Films Of Rick Dalton.
