Tara Reid: 'Bad Habits' Behind Her, Still a 'Viable Star'

Tara Reid, known for her role in American Pie, is reportedly doing well and embracing new challenges as she approaches 50. Despite past struggles with partying, a source tells In Touch that she has overcome bad habits and is thriving.
Reid recently debuted a new look at the Pabrik Gula premiere in Los Angeles, where she sported blonde curls and a leather jacket. Fans were surprised by her appearance, with some on X expressing that they almost didn't recognize her. A source notes that her recent makeover is more than just skin-deep, stating that there is a newfound "light behind her eyes."
Reid admitted in 1999 that she used to drink heavily and sometimes blacked out. This, along with paparazzi evidence, contributed to her image as a party girl, which she found difficult to shake off. In 2023, she discussed how her choice to remain unmarried and childless has affected public perception of her. She felt that in Hollywood, women without children or a spouse are often judged and perceived as still being stuck in their party-girl days.
According to the source, Reid's love of partying hindered her ambitions. However, now that she is focused, offers are reportedly coming in. After being written off by many and facing jokes, Reid has persevered and is proving that she is still a relevant star.
The turning point for Reid was the loss of her mother in 2019. The grief made her realize the preciousness of life, and she now wants to make her late mother proud. As she approaches a milestone birthday, Reid is looking forward to the future and feels like she is finally living up to her potential.
