Superstar Collab: Orange Hill, Vybz Kartel, Idris Elba, and Yung Alpha Unite for 'Pon Time Again'

Orange Hill, the esteemed UK-based electronic dance music and DJ outfit helmed by renowned DJ and producer Ras Kwame, is making a highly anticipated return with their new Afrobeats and dancehall-infused single, ‘Pon Time Again’. Set for release on September 3, 2025, via Platoon, the track features an impressive lineup including global superstar Vybz Kartel, actor/DJ/producer Idris Elba, and rising Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Yung Alpha, who also co-produces the record.
The artists involved have shared their enthusiasm for the collaboration. Ras Kwame describes the track as "about celebration and connection," blending "dancehall energy and Afrobeats rhythm" to create something "timeless but ready for the culture right now." Vybz Kartel adds his signature flair, stating, "Pon Time Again, Look out fi it, b’cos we book out fi it, Orange Hil." Idris Elba expressed his honor in being part of the project, noting that collaborating with Ras Kwame is "always a joy" and working alongside Vybz Kartel and Yung Alpha makes the record "even more special." Yung Alpha echoed these sentiments, looking forward to sharing the track and highlighting the amazing experience of "bringing different cultures together."
Orange Hill’s journey began in 2011, quickly establishing themselves with their fiery debut, ‘Wine De Best’. This breakout single, featuring UK rap icon Kano, Jamaica’s dancehall stalwart Busy Signal, and the late US club legend Fatman Scoop, successfully stormed into the UK Official Singles Breakers Chart Top 20. Originally a duo alongside production partner Jnr Tubby, the group saw Tubby’s departure in 2013. Since then, Ras Kwame has broadened Orange Hill's creative reach, collaborating with diverse global producers like KickRaux and Yung Alpha, and working with a host of artists including Mr Vegas, Stylo G, Mr Eazi, RDX, Sneakbo, Anthony B, Ishawna, Camidoh, and Lisa Mercedez.
The outfit’s music has garnered significant attention, earning coveted playlist spots across major platforms such as BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Kiss FM, MTV, Spotify, and Apple Music. Orange Hill has also made a name for itself on the live circuit, delivering high-energy sets worldwide. Their extensive performance history includes touring with Fatman Scoop and appearances at prestigious events and venues like SxSW in the USA, London’s Fabric and The Roundhouse, Notting Hill Carnival (Boiler Room), Damian Marley’s Welcome to Jamrock Cruise, and Glastonbury, where they masterfully blend dancehall, Afrobeats, reggae, and EDM for an electrifying club experience.
Following a hiatus after their 2018 release, ‘The Carnival EP’, Ras Kwame is now reigniting Orange Hill with ‘Pon Time Again’. This new single is positioned as a feel-good anthem, seamlessly uniting the talents of Vybz Kartel, Idris Elba, and Yung Alpha. Yung Alpha, known for his work on tracks like "Sober ft. Davido, Olumbah & Hmmm… for Chris Brown & Davido," brings his unique Afrobeats expertise to the co-production of this highly anticipated collaboration.
