Super-Mum of 22, Sue Radford, Under Fire for Latest £50k Florida Trip

Sue and Noel Radford, stars of Channel 5's "22 Kids and Counting" and owners of Radford's Pie Company, have recently embarked on yet another family holiday to Florida, specifically Walt Disney Land. This trip comes shortly after a substantial £50,000 (later estimated at £52,000) extravaganza in April, celebrating Sue's 50th birthday. The Morecambe-based family, often referred to as Britain's biggest, shared glimpses of their Disney adventures, including their visit to Epcot, which Sue revealed to be the family's favorite theme park, before the new school term commences in September.

The Radfords' April birthday trip for Sue was a grand affair, involving not only their 20 living children—Christopher, Sophie, Chloe, Jack, Daniel, Luke, Millie, Katie, James, Ellie, Aimee, Josh, Max, Tillie, Oscar, Casper, Hallie, Phoebe, Archie, Bonnie, and Heidie—but also their grandchildren. This multi-generational vacation meant accommodating approximately 39 travellers. The couple, Sue (50) and Noel (54), are well-known for their extensive family, which tragically includes their 17th child, Alfie, stillborn in 2014.

The scale of their holidays naturally incurs significant expenses. For the April trip, flights alone were estimated to cost a staggering £26,228, not including potential excess charges or extra baggage. Park tickets for a seven-day Disney visit were projected to be around £20,065 per trip this year, with the added benefit that children under three years old gain free entry. These tickets typically grant access to multiple parks, water parks, and include a 'Memory Maker' package for unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads, capturing cherished family moments throughout the parks, on rides, and in restaurants.

When it comes to accommodation, the Radfords have previously shared their strategy of renting villas to manage costs and keep their large brood together. An Orlando villa tour posted on their Facebook page last September showcased a property similar to those listed on rental sites like Vrbo. Given that a typical Vrbo house sleeps 15, the Radfords would likely need to book three such villas to comfortably house all 39 family members for a week, amounting to an estimated £6,300 (£300 per night per villa, totaling £2,100 per villa for a week). This cost excludes food, both within the villa and at the parks.

Despite previously admitting to "feeling the pinch" financially, as reported by The Daily Mirror, the Radfords consistently commit to sparing no expense for what they consider a "holiday of a lifetime." Their ability to finance these elaborate trips stems from their popular Channel 5 series and their family business, Radford's Pie Company. The family's frequent visits to Florida, including another reported trip during the summer half-term where they enjoyed fireworks and giant slushies, underscore their dedication to creating memorable experiences for their children, even if the exact number of family members on each subsequent trip remains unconfirmed.
