Suniel Shetty Shares Touching Tribute Remembering His Father Veerappa

On the occasion of Father’s Day, observed on June 15, actor Suniel Shetty took to social media to share a heartfelt tribute to his late father, Veerappa Shetty. Describing him as his ‘first hero,’ Suniel Shetty posted a rare unseen childhood photograph alongside a deeply emotional caption that conveyed his immense love, respect, and gratitude. The image captured baby Suniel sitting comfortably on his father’s lap, looking directly at the camera, offering a glimpse into the profound bond they shared.

In his touching post, the 'Dhadkan' actor expressed his sentiments without elaborate words, stating, “No big post. No fancy words. Just a heart full of gratitude and a quiet thank you… For the love that never asked for anything in return. For being my first hero, my silent strength, My forever home. Happy Father’s Day.” This tribute underscores the significant role Veerappa Shetty played in shaping Suniel’s values and resilience, something the actor has often acknowledged publicly.

Veerappa Shetty passed away on February 28, 2017, at the age of 93, at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, where he had been admitted for treatment. Prior to his demise, he had suffered a stroke in 2013, following which Suniel Shetty reportedly set up a complete Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within his Mumbai residence to provide his father with continuous care. The 'Hera Pheri' actor has consistently referred to his father as his “real hero,” emphasizing his incredible journey and perseverance.

Suniel Shetty often recounted his father’s humble beginnings, illustrating Veerappa’s remarkable life story. He shared how his father started working at a very young age, building a life from incredibly modest circumstances. Veerappa Shetty, for instance, worked as a waiting boy at a restaurant, where he would clean used plates. Suniel also remembered his father sleeping on flattened mustard sacks, using a rolled-up gunny bag as a pillow, highlighting the sheer hardship and determination that defined his early life.

As Father’s Day was celebrated globally on June 15, numerous celebrities across the entertainment industry joined Suniel Shetty in sharing their own touching tributes, honoring the fathers who profoundly influenced their lives and careers.
