Air India Plane Crash: Law Student and Co-Pilot Deaths Reported

The ill-fated Air India flight AI-171 disaster, which claimed the lives of 241 passengers and 12 crew members, has plunged families and communities into profound grief. Among the victims, two individuals whose stories have emerged are First Officer Clive Kunder, the co-pilot, and Deepanshi Bhadouriya, a 21-year-old law student.
Professor Urvashi, a physics teacher at Mumbai's Wilson College, expressed her heartbreak and difficulty in digesting the news of the crash, as Clive Kunder was once her student. She remembered Kunder as a "very disciplined, very punctual, very intelligent boy" whose work was "very neat, clean, very systematic." Professor Urvashi believes that his disciplined nature contributed to his success as a pilot, noting he had accumulated 1,100 hours of flying experience. She recounted a conversation where Kunder expressed his desire to "do something different." The news of Kunder's passing elicited an outpouring of condolences, with many expressing sorrow for the loss of a bright and promising individual. His remains were later transported to his family home for tributes before his last rites.
Deepanshi Bhadouriya, a law student at Exeter University, UK, was another victim of the tragic crash. The 21-year-old had flown home to India on March 27 to surprise her father on his birthday. Although she was originally scheduled to return to London on May 20, she postponed her departure to June 12 to celebrate her parents' wedding anniversary on June 11. A family friend recounted how Deepanshi spent the entire day with her family during the celebrations. A particularly poignant detail revealed was a promise Deepanshi made to her father: "Papa, once I complete my studies, you can always leave this job. I shall take care of everything." Her untimely death, like Kunder's, sparked widespread mourning and expressions of sympathy for her grieving family, highlighting the immense personal losses suffered in the wake of the disaster.
