Sudan's Culture & Tourism Ministry Bans Sky News Arabia
The Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism in Sudan has issued a stern clarification statement regarding the operational status of Sky News Satellite Arabia News Channel within the nation's borders. The Ministry explicitly announced that Sky News Arabia is currently banned from conducting any media activities in Sudan. This prohibition stems from the channel's failure to obtain the necessary permits or accreditation required for media operations within Sudanese national territories.
The statement further elaborated that the actions undertaken by Sky News Arabia, specifically its crew entering Sudanese national territory to perform professional activities without the mandated official accreditation, represent a clear and undeniable violation of the country's laws and regulations governing media work. The Ministry underscored its commitment to upholding these regulations and asserted its full legal right to initiate appropriate actions in response to this violation, strictly in accordance with Sudanese media laws. This official decree was issued from Khartoum on November 10, 2025.
