Strictly Star Dianne Buswell Reveals Joyful Pregnancy News to Family

Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell and her partner, YouTuber Joe Sugg, joyfully announced in September that they are expecting their first child, a baby boy. The couple initially shared their exciting news with their fans through a sweet social media video, which depicted them painting two stick figures and a baby on a canvas, capturing the hearts of their followers.
While their wider fanbase learned the news online, Dianne faced the challenge of breaking the news to her immediate family, who reside in Australia, through a video call. Despite the geographical distance, which Dianne noted makes special moments like this "hard" to experience away from loved ones, the couple managed to capture the emotional reactions of her relatives. The Instagram video showcased various family members' overjoyed responses, with Dianne's father initially expressing shock and believing he was being pranked, creating a truly memorable moment.
Interestingly, the couple later revealed their initial trepidation about sharing their news with relatives. In a YouTube Q&A, Dianne confessed it was "the most nervous" she'd ever been, almost postponing the announcement due to her anxiety. Joe echoed this sentiment, admitting he was "way more nervous to tell friends and family than I was to tell you lot," highlighting the personal significance of this life event. Dianne also shared that Joe shed tears with each subsequent family member they informed.
Amidst their joyous preparations, Dianne and Joe have already selected a name for their baby boy, though they have chosen to keep it private for now. Joe described the name as unique, one he doesn't "really see... anywhere," noting it can be shortened and could suit a sportsperson. Dianne added that it's "kind of like Joe," suggesting it's "cute when you're little, you can call yourself Joseph when you're older," distancing it from overly unconventional names like "Apple or pear." Joe playfully referred to the baby as "Derek" to avoid accidentally revealing the real name before their due date, which they also plan to keep private.
The journey for Dianne and Joe began in 2018 when they were famously partnered together on the popular BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. Their partnership on the show not only led them to the final but also blossomed into a romantic relationship, making their impending arrival a true "Strictly baby."
