Strictly's Motsi Mabuse Blasts Viewers Over Pregnant Dianne Buswell's Dance

Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse has come to the defense of professional dancer Dianne Buswell, who has faced criticism from viewers for continuing to perform in the show after announcing her pregnancy. Responding to fans who expressed discomfort with Dianne's decision, Motsi emphatically stated, “let the woman dance.” She also shared her excitement for Dianne and her boyfriend Joe Sugg.
Drawing on her own experiences and observations, Motsi recounted a situation where a dancer on Germany's 'Let’s Dance' performed throughout her pregnancy with twins. Motsi also recalled her own doctor's advice when she was pregnant: “You’re not sick, you’re pregnant.” She explained that she danced until her baby was nearly born, emphasizing that “our bodies can do it.” Motsi asserted that as long as doctors confirm she is well, Dianne should be allowed to dance, trusting her body and capabilities, calling a “Strictly baby” a blessing.
Dianne Buswell has also directly addressed her critics in recent weeks, highlighting negative comments received on platforms like Instagram. One such comment read: “I don't want to see her dance being pregnant, it's already feeling uncomfortable and she's only starting to show. It's not appropriate.” Dianne retorted with disbelief, writing, “I can't believe in 2025 things like this are still being said.”
In a separate development, Dianne and her celebrity partner, Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis, were unable to perform in a recent Saturday night show due to Stefan's illness. The BBC issued a statement confirming that Stefan had been advised by doctors to rest and, in line with Strictly rules, he and Dianne would receive a bye through to the following week.
