Stray Kids' 'DO IT' Crowned Fan Favorite: Top New Music Pick of the Week

Stray Kids' newest musical offering, the mixtape "DO IT," has made a significant impact, topping this week’s fan-voted music poll published by Billboard. The five-track EP, released via JYP Entertainment, was chosen by music fans as their favorite new release in a poll conducted on Friday, November 21st, demonstrating the group's substantial global fanbase and continued dominance in the music landscape.
The release of "DO IT" coincided with a busy week for new music, seeing competition from various artists and projects. Notable contenders included the movie cast of "Wicked: For Good" – released during the film's opening weekend – as well as new tracks from Tate McRae, The Kid LaROI, and Tainy in collaboration with Karol G. Despite the strong competition and "Wicked: For Good" dominating the box office, Stray Kids' mixtape secured an overwhelming victory in the Billboard readers' poll, capturing an impressive 86% of the total votes.
This special album, which Stray Kids refers to as both a mixtape and a "special album," marks a significant follow-up to their highly successful fourth Korean-language studio album, "Karma." "Karma" notably achieved a No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart just in September, further cementing Stray Kids' consistent chart performance and growing international appeal. The group's ability to consistently deliver chart-topping and fan-favorite content underscores their strong artistic vision and connection with their audience.
"DO IT" is presented as an integral part of Stray Kids' ongoing "SKZ IT TAPE" series. The group has articulated the mixtape's core message as a powerful musical command to "act boldly with confidence right now." Through its tracks, "DO IT" delves into the evolving narrative of the group itself, portraying their journey as they embrace opportunities, seize the day, and meticulously craft their unique identity, referred to as their own "IT."
The tracklist for "DO IT" includes five distinct songs: the title track "Do It," followed by "DIVINE," "Holiday," "Photobook," and a special "Do It (Festival Version)." The lead single and title track, "Do It," was further amplified by the release of a dance-focused, cinematic music video during the same week, providing fans with a visually engaging companion to the high-energy song.
Beyond Stray Kids' landslide victory, other new releases also garnered attention in the poll. Tate McRae's single "So Close to What???" secured nearly 6% of the vote, placing it as a distant second. Following closely was the official movie soundtrack for "Wicked: For Good," led by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, which received just over 5% of the votes. The final results clearly demonstrated the formidable fan engagement and preference for Stray Kids' latest work.
