A 32-year-old stepfather, Samuel Alfred, in the Igbo Elerin area of Lagos State has been nabbed for defiling his 14-year-old stepdaughter.

He was arrested alongside his 21-year-old friend, Obi Ikechukwu.

On February 19, 2025, the case of conspiracy and defilement was transferred from the Okokomaiko Police Division to the Gender unit of the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, after a 30-year-old mother (name withheld) reported that her Alfred defiled the girl and impregnated her.

The complainant stated that her husband has been having sexual intercourse with her daughter since she was 11 years old.

She stated that sometime in October 2024, Alfred had canal knowledge of the girl again and got her pregnant.

The second suspect, Obi Ikechukwu, reportedly had sexual intercourse with the girl while she was pregnant on the pretext that the act would ease childbirth.

Meanwhile, on March 18, 2025, a case of defilement was transferred from the office of Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) to the Gender Unit Lagos State Police Command through a referral letter from the DSVA to the office of the commissioner of police Lagos state command.

Spokesperson of Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the case was reported by a woman in Magbon Alade, Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos State, on behalf of her 12-year-old granddaughter, who was defiled by a 57-year-old Agbaraojo Wasiu, of same address.

The complainant alleged that the alleged perpetrator defiled her granddaughter on February 4, 2025, and threatened her that she would die if she revealed it to anyone.

The suspect was arraigned at Ebute Metta Magistrate Court Oyingbo on March 5, 2025, and remanded at Kirikiri prison.

The case was adjourned till April 9, 2025, for DPP advice.
