The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested a 32-year-old man, Samuel Alfred, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his stepdaughter in the Igbo Elerin area of Ojo, Lagos State.

One of the suspect’s friends, identified as Obi Ikechukwu, was also arrested for allegedly engaging the survivor in s3x on the pretence that he wants to help her to have safe childbirth.

The case of defilement which was first reported at Okokomaiko Police Station by the survivor’s mother, was later transferred to the Gender Section of the command’s headquarters in Ikeja.

While at the Gender Unit of the command, a medical test was conducted on the girl which did not only show that the survivor had been defiled severally, but that she was also pregnant for her stepfather.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest, saying that the matter was transferred to the Gender Unit on February 21, 2025, around 4.30pm from Okokomaiko Division.

He said the 30-year-old mother, on behalf of her 14-year-old daughter, reported the case against her husband, who is the girl’s stepfather.

“The complainant stated that her husband has been having s3xual intercourse with her daughter when she was 11years and that sometime in October, 2024, he did the same. She said her husband eventually got her daughter pregnant.

“She accused the second suspect, Obi Ikechukwu, of having s3xual intercourse with her daughter while she was pregnant on the pretext that the act would ease childbirth. 

“The two suspects were arraigned in court 9 Ogba and they were remanded in Kirikiri correctional centre while the case file was duplicated and sent for DPP’s legal advice,” he said.
