A disturbing incident at Kenya's heavily guarded State House has ignited serious questions regarding national security, following the fatal attack on a General Service Unit (GSU) officer. Kithuka Kimunyi, 56, is alleged to have killed the officer using a bow and arrow near the presidential residence, an event that has exposed a troubling security lapse at one of the country’s most fortified installations.

The suspect, identified as Kithuka Kimunyi Musyimi, was arraigned before the Kibera Law Courts on October 14, 2025. During the court appearance, police requested a 14-day detention period to facilitate comprehensive investigations into the incident.
