Disney+ has recently unveiled the eagerly anticipated first trailer for Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, promising another enthralling collection of animated shorts that continue to redefine the iconic galaxy far, far away. This latest installment of the award-winning anthology series is set to captivate fans with its bold new voices and fresh perspectives on the beloved Star Wars universe.

Star Wars: Visions has established itself as a critically acclaimed project within the Disney era of Star Wars, earning prestigious accolades such as an Emmy, multiple Annie Awards, and a Lumière Award.The series is celebrated for its innovative approach, reimagining classic Star Wars archetypes—Jedi, Sith, smugglers, and bounty hunters—through diverse cultural and visual lenses, moving beyond the established canon to explore new narrative possibilities.

Volume 3 is poised to elevate the series further by exclusively featuring contributions from renowned Japanese anime studios, solidifying its artistic roots. Complementing this, the production boasts one of its most star-studded voice casts to date. Notable talents lending their voices include Anna Sawai from Shōgun, Simu Liu of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Stephanie Hsu from Everything Everywhere All at Once, veteran actor Steve Buscemi, Star Trek icon George Takei, Harvey Guillén from What We Do in the Shadows, Judith Light, Freddie Highmore, and Jodie Turner-Smith of The Acolyte.

The trailer for Volume 3 teases a rich tapestry of tones and genres across its nine new episodes. Among these are "The Duel: Payback," from Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA, which sees a Ronin confronting a vengeful Grand Master Jedi. Project Studio Q presents "The Song of Four Wings," following a rebel princess as she protects a child on a snow-covered planet. Production I.G contributes "The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope," where Kara encounters a mysterious droid while evading Jedi Hunters, building on a previously explored concept.

Further expanding the narrative landscape, WIT STUDIO delivers "The Bounty Hunters," a tale of a rogue bounty hunter whose latest assignment leads to perilous consequences. Kinema citrus Co. offers two shorts: "Yuko’s Treasure," about an an orphan and a street kid embarking on a rescue and treasure hunt, and "The Lost Ones," which centers on a warrior forced to confront past traumas during a refugee mission.

Rounding out the anthology, TRIGGER presents "The Smuggler," detailing a smuggler's high-stakes rescue assignment from the Galactic Empire. Polygon Pictures explores spiritual growth in "The Bird of Paradise," where a blinded Padawan undergoes trials to resist the allure of the Dark Side. Finally, david production’s "BLACK" promises a psychedelic exploration of memory, life, and death unfolding within an Imperial trooper's mind.

Star Wars: Visions continues to demonstrate that the strength of the Star Wars galaxy is amplified when its boundaries are creatively tested and its stories are untethered from strict canon. With its exceptional cast, breathtaking animation, and diverse narratives, Volume 3 is set to be a significant addition to the series, beginning its exclusive stream on Disney+starting October 29.
