Star Shaken! Kawhi Leonard Exits Clippers Game With Ankle Sprain

LA Clippers star Kawhi Leonard sustained a sprained left ankle late in Saturday night's 118-109 home loss to the Sacramento Kings. The injury occurred with 9:27 remaining in the fourth quarter as Leonard was guarding DeMar DeRozan. He landed awkwardly, backpedaled a few steps, and then tumbled to the court. Despite quickly getting back on his feet, Leonard noticeably limped off to the Clippers' bench before heading to the locker room and did not return to the game.

Following the game, the Clippers provided no immediate update on the severity of Leonard's ankle sprain or whether he would miss any upcoming games. The loss to the Kings also brought an end to the Clippers' four-game winning streak.

Prior to his exit, Leonard had delivered a strong performance, finishing the game with 31 points. This marked his 45th consecutive game with at least 20 points, a significant achievement that surpassed Bob McAdoo's franchise record of 44 consecutive games, set during the 1974-75 season when the team was based in Buffalo. Leonard has been enjoying a stellar season, averaging a career-best 28.3 points through 52 games. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
